Family Tree Maker 2010 Review
Has anyone bought Family Tree Maker 2010 from Ancestry.com?
They have a special – 25%, but tomorrow (31/01) … so I want to know whether to buy or not. I know the price is right. I read some reviews and five stars or a star – you know, a little love and some not. Thanks for your opinion. I thank Ted Pack for first responders and investigators for their contribution, but I think the best "response" gave further information on the use and programs. Thanks again to everyone.
I bought my old FTM16 not to migrate to Windows 7. I preferred FTM16 treated as graphics and reports. However, if you have subscription ancestry, is the research of Internet services for the people to be simply incredible. If a document referred to may be someone in your tree, a leaf will notify you by name. Clicking that will connect to Ancestry.com, and can display and merge documents, their source citations, and the image the media automatically. All this information is assigned to the individual. It is a huge time saver. It eliminates the drudgery of old hand written between endless quotes. In fact, the quoting of the source is so important for genealogical research decent, I believe that virtue is to overcome the 2010 report slower and more limited / mapping functions. The fusion of information databases, Ancestry.com is not simplified, allowing easy access to cut and paste operations. Handles well the media, without bogging. I used to have tons of photos and pictures JPG FTM16 and in separate files, but now everyone in the tree reaches a their own files of scanned documents and photographs. I used the FAP and trial versions of Roots Magic, Legacy, Master Genealogist and what programs are all well and have their strengths. FTM 2008 and 2009 were bad, especially compared to the old FTM 16, but 2010 is a very different animal. I am very satisfied especially for his research on the Internet wave of new search function. If you need more capacity mapping, I can always load one of the other programs on my computer (TMG is powerful enough in this regard), but in both cases, could not stop in 2010 and used both programs in relation to one another.
